Have u tried removing plug connectors or cap wire one at a time, the old rule was if the noise goes away it’s a rod, if the noise doubles, it’s a wrist pin, if it stays the same it’s piston slap. No hard truth to this, but something to try. Doesn’t sound terminal to me.
