I have 3. Got them when I had external beam radiation treatment for prostate cancer. One on each hip and one below my navel so the laser aiming could radiate me in exactly the same spot for 6 weeks. All are the size of a pinhead.

Commented to the tech who did them that I had made it 65 years without ink and asked if they could just mark me with a sharpie. She replied in the negative and got to work.

I view them much the same as my scars, as good sources of stories.
