How about a Mini Cooper convertible? People may think you're a poof but at your age, who cares?
Never drove or even sat in one but you should fit. Might be fun enough to tool around in and have more useful space than a Miata.
I was going to suggest a Jag XJS convertible but thats more of a project than a car to drive.
