I vaguely remember from when I rebuilt my 911 that I used these two sealers in specific locations. Of course I have no memory of which was which.
I effed up installing the generator stand on my '56 coupe and had an oil leak. Getting another gasket is going to be problematic (shipping costs more than the gasket) so my realistic options are to go to NAPA and get a sheet of gasket material and make a new one (PITA).
OR
Use some of this stuff. The data sheets seem to say they both do the same job, but Porsche wanted them used in particular areas of the 911 engine assembly,so there must be some difference.
Any guidance as to which one I should use? Or should I just bite the bullet and make a gasket?
I had the generator out half a dozen times chasing a charging problem and at some point I tore the gasket without realizing it.
The surfaces are flat and easy to clean.
Which do I use???
