Those are Edlebrock 24 Stud Dual Plug heads on the 48-53 flattie block . it uses a modified GM distributor with split wires coming from the towers. Early builders used the 16 tower twin plug Nash V8 distributor body and cap adapted to the Ford base . The SU' carbs are a much later (1970-75) design that incorporate the good parts of the earlier HS style with a clever temperature compensating device that raises or lowers the main jet around the tapered metering needle to richen or lean as need be. The carbs appear to be either early Volvo or MGB-V8 pieces, sitting on a three Holley 94 (3 bolt flange) intake . 63-73 used smaller bore HS-4 carbs and 73-74 US MGB used 2 bolt flanged HIF-4s. And contrary to popular opinion, the HIF SU's are deadnuts reliable, rarely if ever need any adjustment once set up and the linkage is not nearly as complicated as it looks. They just need a few squirts of oil in the damper chamber to work.
