I have been chasing a noise on the driver's side front suspension on the RX350 for over a month now. In this process, I have replaced parts that, despite not being the cause of the noise, needed replacing. Items replaced so far include both front axles, driver's side wheel bearing, hub, and ball joint, passenger side ball joint, front rotors turned, slider pins cleaned, and greased and the noise is still there. Tonight, my brother-in-law stopped by, and I took him for a ride down the street to see if he could tell what it could be. He thought that it was more of a bumping sound so when we parked back in my driveway, we pushed up and down on the driver's side, and you could hear the noise as the car bounced up and down. So it has been determined that the strut on that side has failed and is bottoming out or close to it. I was looking at replacing both front struts as the bellows are very deteriorated. So, hopefully, the noise is coming from the driver's side strut, and I will be replacing both in the near future. Here are some random pics from my tinkering today looking at clearances to see if anything was rubbing somewhere.
