There was a guy in OKC that owned a Mig. The Russians sold off a lot of "excess" hardware after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
There is really is a speed limit in the skies over the USA, until you get out over the oceans. The fuel cost and maintenance was just hugely expensive. He had it for a short time, and did a few supersonic runs out over the Gulf, and then put it on the market. He said owning a yacht was way cheaper.
