It doesn't help that Subaru has declared October 22 National Make a Dog's Day day.

Every October, Subaru runs their commercials, and I think of Ginger. She's been gone longer than she was alive, but I still miss her. She had a birth defect that caused her kidneys to not develop. The vet found this at 6 months when we were going to spay her. The vet gave her 6 months. Through lots of love and very expensive dog food, she lived another 3 years. This photo is from one of her last days with us.

Sounds like you guy and Ginger were the perfect match.

When she passed, the wife wanted to get another dog right away. I wasn't ready, and I wanted to wait. She won, and Dec 7 2018 this one came home.

Fortunately, neither of us wanted a new pup.

She was a rescue, abandoned by a breeder at 6 weeks old. Supposedly she wasn't the right color.



Would you toss this and two siblings by the side of the road?

What a beautiful pup! Ours was a dachshund.
