Regina is 440' long. It was about 1/2 mile away but to my eyes it was cooking and a very small wake relative to its size. The 29kts was reported at the time from an ais tracking site and who knows if that is correct. But it was beautiful how it slipped through the water.
I think the ugly boat was a sunseeker 90 but it was tipped way back.

Funny, when I searched for "90' yacht" what popped up that I looked at was the sunseeker 90.
I think a large military ship is going to be designed very differently with different goals in mind than a pleasure yacht. Take the intended goals, and weight into consideration and I think you'll end up with very different behavior/performance. Kind of like comparing a cesna to an airbus 380.
