Probably the ais was lying about the 29kts but thats what it said. And that ship was was cooking. The wake wasnt anything compared to what we see during winter storms. Sad thing all that money and crews time and the major op on wikipedia is interdicting hashish traffic in the persian gulf. Was joking they were after some kayakers.

My reason to include regina is that its a big full displacement hull and follows the standard hull speed rules which are dominated by the square of the length.

The big piggy white things cant get on plane so when you exceed the hull speed the power tips the boat up and turns into water froth and the teensiest of extra speed. They probably look ok at 12kts, but nobody puts 5000hp into a boat to go 12kts.

Im not up on yachting vernacular but theres got to be some great names for the guys that overdrive their boats but i guess i can just call them edmontonians sine they all seem to be from canadia.
