Huge case of OCD set in yesterday. The plan was to try to buff out some light scratches on the inside of the lid that have been bugging me. The grill is all aluminum. Ended up doing a full tear down and polish to mirror finish using Mother’s and a 5” foam pad on a random orbital buffer. Quite pleased with the results!

Very sad grill news to report. Several months ago I was using the grill to sear some steaks that I cooked Sous Vide. I also used my Grill Gun (propane flame thrower) to speed up the process which ignited the drip tray below the grates causing a huge grease fire. Flames shot up 2+ feet. Although you should never cook with the hood down on this infrared grill I had to shut it to keep from catching the patio umbrella that covers my grill table on fire. Pretty scary event. Lesson learned - keep the drip tray emptied.

The heat severely warped the hood. I've got a new hood on order and a deep cleaning and polishing on my to do list.
