If you want your engine to operate correctly, then you have to maintain it. Cheap oil won’t fix the chain guide deterioration. You have to fix it or park it until you can fix it. If you plan to do this yourself, you will need the cam hold down tool before you remove the valve cover.
These cars are more expensive if left un-repaired than maintained. It’s a 25 year old car!
