I agree with the likelihood that it isn’t a plug. If you are going through the engine, removing the plugs to clean and inspect the galley's is a good thing. I would venture to guess it would be a higher probability that your leak is the Tri-Angle of Death, or the rocker shafts. I would think you already looked at the oil return tubes.
