Indycar monitors the leaders speed on restarts . Everything I have read says a constant 80 mph was held . If that is accurate there is no issue . Newgarden has stated he wanted to wait until very late to hit the gas , per Indycar rules that is allowed . Again no issue .
According to Newgarden there was a 1/2 second to 1 second delay from the light going green to when he accelerated. I think Rossi saw green and went to try and gain a position , but you also have to watch the car's in front of you . That's my opinion anyway .
