Robberies happen in the nice parts of towns. We just had one the other day here where a guy had his watch taken at gunpoint in broad daylight in the outdoor tables in front of the Beverly Wilshire hotel on the corner of Wilshire and Rodeo in Beverly Hills. The victim was targeted for his 6-figure watch and the robbery was over so quickly that other people sitting around him did not even know it happened. The Beverly Wilshire hotel is famous for many things including being the setting for the film, "Pretty Woman" with Richard Gere and Julia Roberts.
Not sure where some of you live but Rodeo Drive in BH is about as high rent as it gets in the USA and BH in general is policed like few places on earth...it's actually known for being "over policed." Not exactly a "defund the police" place.
The point is that crime is a real problem but also people wearing hundreds of thousands of dollars on their bodies are huge targets for robbers...it's like walking around in the lion's den with a pork chop around your neck. Not very smart.
