I recently fought with a slow one, the rubber seemed to be causing too much friction so I sprayed the guide chanel with silicone , like pam spray, not tub and sink sealant ;-) it worked.
I tend to hide that stuff from myself to prevent overuse,
it will wreak havoc upon any future paintwork you plan to do.
