Back in the 80's I did a lot of Dark Room photo work, college night classes were great to use the dark room. Bulk rolled my own 35mm film canisters. Buy 100-200 feet of B/W iso 200 or 400 film, bulk roll it into 24 or 36 exposures tins, and then develop and print later. It was fascinating doing printing with the Enlarger, exposure time, then into the developer and stop bath liquids waiting to see how your art turned out.

Same here in the '70s.
Had a film leader break one night shooting a concert. Had my wife guarding the men's room door while I was in there salvaging the film in the dark!
