I have been there but have never stayed at South Rim. Jacob Lake is must pass location to get to South Rim. Stopped to get a pastry at the general store. I like to get out there before winter sets in, stay for a few days for some peace and quiet. Don't want to hump all the camping stuff if wife's coming with me because she will bring the entire bedroom. Want to travel light, couple bags and take the Cayman, stay in the little cabinets. I jsut realized that they are booked way out in advance.
