EUREKA>>PROBLEM FIXED!!!!!!!!!!
Today I removed the fuel pump relay and then measured
voltages at the pin sockets...especially 30 and 78a. I got
strange very low voltages. Then I measured voltages at the TOP
of the fuses starting at the back of the car and got either
12.3 or zero..which all makes sense. I then measured at the same fuse locations but at the BOTTOM of the fuse. Note all the old
style fuses looked OK with no blown out center areas. I then got VERY low voltage at one fuse point in this test.the . So..I did the rotate the fuse back and forth to clean the fuse to socket surfaces trying to make a better connection. I then measured all the positions again at the lower fuse terminal....and all the fuses that showed 12 volts at the top NOW READ 12v at the bottom. I then re-plugged in the round relay and immediately heard
the fuel pump motor operating.I then tried starting the car and...and...drum roll..IT STARTED RIGHT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parts cost to fix my problem...zero. Hours thinking of
causes....45.237. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO POSTED AND HELPED ME!!!!!!!!!
