First, if you want to clean glass with dawn, add a few drops of good pure isopropranolol alcohol, 90% or better. Wipe and wipe and wipe until the streaks go away. This comes from someone who cleaned research telescope mirrors...
Second, we used Dawn to clean metal parts before anodizing. Ask Shaun...anodizing requires CLEAN parts. A good hard mechanical scrubbing with Dawn and then distilled water leaves NOTHING on metal.
