It is not what the first Luft was that's for sure. The crowd had changed. The attitude had changed, jsut like Rennsport. As far as the patina cars go, they have to satisfy the hipsters therefore must be cool to have that rusted POS there. The rusted cars isnt my cut of tea neither. Patrick long is no dummy, go after the money. The air cool enthusiast of the old days had come and gone. The hard core group I knew when I was 30 is still around but that boat had sailed sadly and most of them are well into their mid 60 or older. How much can they keep this going and how much money are they going to throw into their flat motors? I took the shuttle from the parking lot with my kid (first time at Car show and we had a grand old time). One the way back, I met this 45 -50 year women, skinny, heels and a tight silver shinny dress like if she was a singer on stage (like the rusty car, not my cup of tea) and we talked a little about the car show. She told me this was her first Porsche show ever and she's been a Porsche enthusiast since she bought her Porsche. Me: Oh, what kinda Porshee do you have? A Panamera and she was hoping to see more modern Porshee instead of cars that are 30-40 years old. Must have missed the Luft part? Well, that will be the crowd for Air-cool cars from now. Sad. Lots of hipsters taking pictures wearing their Porsche design glasses, jackets and all the things Ferrari owner seem to do to promote their brand.

I had a great time. Stopped to chat with Wayne and saw his 962 and share stories about his solar car from MIT. That was fun.

I didn't care to go to the previous Luft Events because the one before that, I was told by a couple of folks at the counter that this event was for owners normally and that I should buy ticket long before the event. I just happen to be checking on my rental and this was around the corner. It has become too exclusive. I spoke to a friend yesterday and he said the same thing, there's no need to pay 100 bucks to go see someone's else's car. I have to say, seeing all the IROC cars there was cool. See you at the next Rennsport
