Good story, funny how they can all be similar in this car…

Just bought my 3.0 930 the day before, drove it 400 miles home, no problems, she just needed some love… it had 15-20 year old visibly glazed tires, I knew it when i bought it, took the chance driving home. The next morning i got up starting at her, i was going to wait till my tires came in the following week… I sat there thinking about the rumors of massive turbo lag, and the widowmaker moniker… hell, I went to driving school, I had my racing license, I knew what i was doing… f it, I’m taking her out. Drove up the hill away from my house like a bat outa hell, traffic signal at the top of the hill was timed just right, a nice quick right hander onto a 6 lane high speed road. I’ve done this a hundred times before, in whatever i was driving at the time. I set her up, downshifted to 2nd while braking hard to the intersection, turned in, hit the gas and she held just right, right up until the lag ended and the boost kicked in. I was immediately sideways all i could think was don't lift don't lift… slid sideways across all 3 of my lanes right up to the center island, just missing the curb. Gathered her up, and myself… turned around and coasted down the hill back to my house in a self imposed limp mode right into my garage. Took the wheels off then and there and dropped them off at my tire shop… figured i didn't need another temptation to kill myself…
