The stud, and nut, rely on thread tension (stretch) to stay in place.... "Lesser Loctite" becoming a lubricant is laughable....

At any rate, it seems most give too much praise to "RED" thread lockers. Install with RED and even with a typical stud removal tool, and hand tools (no heat) they can easily be removed....

All of that said, we always install thread in studs with Red Wurth Thread Locker. Never had a problem on countless cars, including our own vehicles (many). Rquired? Don't know, but certainly lowers any risk we have.
