Harley claims 1903. There is no evidence of a motorcycle produced in 1903.
That said, the Indian guys need to give it up. It’s not the same company.
BMW just celebrated 100 years. As an engine maker they go back to 1914 or so. But with breaks for a couple lost wars. There is no rule book for how these things are calculated.
