I left PayPal years ago for Venmo. It has worked well for me, but I haven't sold any items quite as expensive as a Targa top, like you plan to do. Some of the vendors I do freelance gigs for pay me via the app (so far my invoices have ranged between $2 and $3k).
It is generally free to use, but some transactions will cost you. You can easily avoid the fees, as can your buyers (provided they are not using a CC linked to their account and have the funds available on the app). Plenty of info on the web, I'm sure you've already read some of what is out there.
