I don't understand USB cables on most car things. The other end is standard USB A and unprotected. I just put the cap back on the ECU when I'm not plugged in.
For connections, I've seen too many WiFi and BT issues in race cars. If someone wants a keypad, the AiM Open keypads are easy to program and tie in, Strada dash for street cars, and regular logging dash for race cars so you get full analysis.
