In a normal socket set, you'd have a 3/4" and a 13/16" socket. In this set, you get 1 socket that fits both 3/4" and 13/16" so you replace 2 sockets with 1 socket. Granted, they are a bit longer than a single socket. It seems it would simplify some things.
