I wonder if customer teams are allowed to disect the engines ? My guess is they can't . That would make it easier to reverse engineer . It will be interesting to watch Ford/Red Bull and GM/Cadillac design/build/tune their versions of an F1 engine . Both Ford and GM are successful across a broad range of racing . But a F1 engine is a different beast , freely revving to 17k and has to last or you are penalized . They are both diving into the deep end of the pool .
