Quick recap of my watch list since it's black friday week and practically all of those channels are cheap for a while... Like $1.75 or $3 per month with offers and you can likely binge within a trial period or a month sub...
- Silo - fantastic post apocalyptic show w/ Rebecca Ferguson - with Lioness the one show I eagerly await weekly, a bit like fallout but not goofy (good books too) - catch up on all S1 too and you can likely get both seasons within your trial period or one measly month sub (and stay for one season of "bad monkey" and the first 2-3 seasons of "for all mankind" on an alternate history space race)
- Shrinking: good comedy, Harrison Ford is great, wife will watch
- Lioness: Really good special forces series, extremely violent, somewhat political in ways you may or may not like but mostly violent. Zoe saldana is very good.
- Landman: interesting show so far, kinda yellowstone in Texas (replace ranchers on a horse with blue collar oil men, same country music in the background) but what makes it good is a) it's interesting to learn about the oil industry b) Billy bob Thornton is the king of dry delivery and the writers are good. Talking of, is taylor Sheridan freaking EVERYWHERE on TV ? (Lioness too)
- The Agency: Fassbender as somewhat rogue agent returning from long foreign assignment - I wanted to like this one more, and I still may, but a) it starts real slow b) I realized halfway thru EP2 this is a complete remake of the french "le bureau des legendes" (the bureau). And while it's remade in english, using the CIA, and more budget money, it's not as good to me because "the bureau" was fantastic story wise... and I know the story already. If you can take subtitles watch "the bureau" instead.
- Dune Prophecy - So far so good, even miniseries can do $$$$ FX now (yeah Nvidia) takes place 10000yrs before the movies/books... Plus Ragnar lothbrook is in it and he always plays a weirdo well - he might be the new jack Nicholson.
- Penguin: Kinda odd, Colin Farrell unrecognizable so I am not sure why they didn't pick Danny de Vito instead, but endearing so far because it's the rise of a mid level mafia guy, will see...
- The day of the jackal: the surprise of the month so far, really good show about an assassin, Redmayne is weird as ever (sadly his spanish wife, "Tokyo" is less hot than she was in "case de papel")... Very enjoyable, whole season is there, peacock is cheap. Need to rewatch the last Ep because I have no idea if he completed the mission or not.
Cross: Just started - was hoping for another Prime "Bosch" good surprise but it's not, will give it a few episodes. too soon to tell. Opinions?
SAS Rogue heroes: Creation of the SAS, different vibe between funny/serious and historical... WW2 in Africa, british flair, less $ than the above shows but can't wait for S2 anyway. All S1 is there.
