Not much for him to be thankful for that Thanksgiving. That is some bad luck.
We noticed our drains were running really slow. We called Mr. Rooter, and they ran a snake and ii did not get better. They sent down a camera and found out the connection from our line to the main sewer line was shifted about 1/2 way off, and the problem was right under my storage shed. I really hated the thought of moving all the stuff in the shed out, and then somehow jacking the shed up and moving it.
They brought in a cute little backhoe that came through the gate, and it was a digging machine. He trenched up from the edge of the backyard sidewalk clean-out around the storage shed, to the area where the main sewer line is. He dug a huge hole into the clay, down to the sewer line.
His head was below ground level when he was in the hole attaching the line to the main sewer line. It all works great now.
Our best guess was either the plumber that made the old connection failed to glue it, or the earthquakes we have had in the past shifted it. Either way, it was a couple of grand to get it fixed right. Without moving the shed, and finding the old no longer used connection there is no way to know for sure.
