6oz water (≈ 170 g) and 2tbls (level) coffee (≈ 10.6 g), is close-ish to the golden ratio of 60 g coffee per 1 liter of water.

As noted above, weighing is easier than guessing what a "cup" is in coffee-speak, and what is a tablespoon? Leveled, slightly mounded, heaped???

Of course, the "ah, eff it" and just dump stuff in method works too.
