As noted above, weighing is easier than guessing what a "cup" is in coffee-speak, and what is a tablespoon? Leveled, slightly mounded, heaped???
Of course, the "ah, eff it" and just dump stuff in method works too.

I'm going to get a scale like M Johnson recomments.
Even though I am doing the latter recommendation you mention I'm trying to be consistent now that I found a rough combination that tastes, so far, good.
