It's nice to have a really good 1911. So to keep it in your pricing maybe have a look on gun broker and a few other places. I wouldn't buy a brand new low spec gun. A guy at gun club had a Ed Brown 1911 and it really was a work of art. Don't know how much second hand but look like new cost but it was a beautiful gun. So maybe the Kimber or a high spec Springfield. I've got one and it's quite good but I've gone back to using a CZ75 9mm because it's easier to use with speed steel shoots.
