I've ridden across on a ferry from Tarifa to Tangier.
And for many years I'd heard about "the rock of Gibraltar", but nothing prepared me for seeing it.
One of the biggest issues for Gibraltar is fresh water. They don't exactly have a lot of lakes, rivers, or springs. The side that faces the Med is covered in cement/plaster which is used to collect fog, dew, and rain. They also have some desalination facilities, but that's expensive. I
think I even remember being told that some water is brought in by boat. Granted, that was a long time ago. Things may have changed since then.
