Bore scoring is an issue with a small percentage of 955 and 957 Cayennes. It's only prevalent in very cold climates and collective wisdom is to use the best oils, change every 5000 and well below freezing, start and go, don't let idle. My truck was originally from Canada and used as a ski truck. I've started it many times at 4:30 in the morning at 10ºF and it's still going strong, knock on wood. Only use Liqui Moly but I'm sure Motul will work as well.

There are a lot of known issues with early Cayennes but if they have already been corrected by a responsible owner, I think they will go for 300K+ miles of excellent service with reasonable care.
