I took a relatively new pair of Nike sneakers that were in the garage for several years and cut the outside soles off, to drive the car. Made a huge difference.

Driving a 3 pedal sports car with a small footwell and small, close pedals is a PITA with bulky shoes or shoes with big bulky soles. Barefoot style shoes (whether with separate toes or not) makes driving in that situation sooo much better and more pleasurable.
