After all the great ideas that came from this thread I decided to go this route . . .

As stated in the opening post I didn’t want to disassemble the entire front end of the vehicle to access the latch mechanism. Ideally I would install the correct length and eliminate the need for an extension. Instead, I merely wanted a way to extend the cable six inches and place the hood release handle in the locked glove box and avoid the front end disassembly.

I ordered an emergency brake cable connector to attach to the Bowden crossbar stop sleeve that attaches to the original hood release mechanism.









To extend the six inches needed to get into the new glove box I ordered a hood release handle and cable to put in the glove box extending to the emergency brake cable connector.



I should be able to cut to the right length and attach the extension to the brake cable connector.

Once all the goodies get delivered and installed I’ll update the group.
