if you want to modernize there are many options with built in BT and ipod/iphone control that would work.
For amplification there are many "D" class amps that are incredibly tiny, but yet put out a ton of wattage. Do research though, some are better quality than others.
PS- If you want to sell your old amps/speaker setup, PM me, . I like vintage gear and have use for it.
