We're, fortunately, much warmer down here in central Texas. Our home is a wood frame pier and beam home made by the original inhabitants in either 1920 or 1924 with no insulation. Some insulation has been added over the years, but it's still not fully insulated. Central HVAC (heat pump) was added in 1991, and we're still running that same system. Tomorrow morning when we wake up it'll be at least 74° upstairs, maybe a bit more. Downstairs will be somewhere in the 60-65° range because we aren't insulated will enough.

What gets me is what they did before 1991, especially in the first 20, 30, 40 years.
