I do for cars that get driven a lot. Its not even about the money I just admire efficiency in engineering and philosophically appreciate conservation where it doesn't cause undue duress.
Wife car is a highlander hybrid, put a fair amount of effort to seek out hybrid version even though break even point is like 80k miles. We have been averaging 37-38 mpg in mixed driving.
My daily driver gets around 30 mpg though requires premium.
Its at least on the list of things I consider for a daily. Actually all my fun cars have been relatively fuel efficient 4 cyl as well: Lotuses, 4 cyl cayman, WRX Sti, Maybe I need to get a viper or supercharged mustang next
