On January 2, 1920, Isaac Asimov, a science fiction creator, was born.
Best known for his hard science fiction, Asimov also wrote mysteries and fantasy, as well as popular science and other non-fiction.
Asimov's work invented the word robotics, and ignited the public imagination of robots. With his Three Laws, he created a world in which robots were reliable, beneficent, and almost uniformly — friends.
His most famous works were the Foundation trilogy and I, Robot, in which he introduced his famous “Three Laws of Robotics".
The prolific Mr Asimov famously said "The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom".
