My wife and I took the El Camino on a short round trip to historic Ft. Reno. I was established in 1874 to quell the Indians and imprison 32 Indians (First Americans now). It was a former site of a POW camp for WW2 prisoners. There are many graves of POWs that died there.
The sad news is that the USDA now owns the property, and they don't care about the fort. They have demolished many building and some others are in dire need or repairs.
Another historic site that the wrong federal agency is in charge of.
