We had one in Wellington NZ called Kirkcaldie & Stains.

It had been there since 1863. It was where the upper middle classes went shopping. The quality was excellent. Royal Doulton crockery, Italian men's suits, even the lunch room were wonderful.
But today's buyer just wanted cheaper cheaper more disposable rubbish, and all the old girls who shopped tere on a regular basis were dying off of old age.
