The other long forgotten (at least in my experience) is the true 'men's clothing store'. Not the Warehouse or Jos Banks. The place where you went to get suits,
slacks, and sport coats. But as a kid, I could never figure out why they were called sport coats since I never saw anyone wearing one to play softball or whatever.
When my father died, I got several of his ties, which I'm pretty sure all came from Samuel's men's shop in Oak Ridge Tennessee. The same guys worked there for decades and knew their customers, ditto for the tailors.
