Castaic fire now 5,000 ac, I think started at far NE corner of lake (Lake Hughes Rd/Castaic Reservoir Rd), which puts all of Lake Castaic between the fire and the town of Castaic. Winds from the NE, 13 kts or so. Castaic being evacuated.
Just eyeballing the map, the bigger concern is if fire rounds the lake and turns south, then it will be pointed at Santa Clarita with no lake in the way. However, wind forecast is for winds to change to more from the south in a couple of days. There's not much civilization north of the fire.

I was repairing our dryer and went back in the kitchen to get some water. Saw a dark blob in the sky and thought we were getting rain.
Turns out it was fire. Grabbed spoons, guitars, computer and file box and me and the Dog hit the road. Wife is in Arizona with the Grandkids. Dang people drive like idiots when they're evacuating. Trying to drive and check their phones for fire updates, no bueno.
Sleeping on a friends couch. Fire is on the other side of 5 freeway and they got a handle on it. Should be able to get back in the morning, fingers crossed.
