I met I guy in Mount Shasta City who believed in the old legend of Lemurians who lived under the mountain in a complex system of tunnels beneath with jeweled walls and fur-carpeted floors, and occasionally were seen walking the surface dressed in white robes. I climbed Mount Shasta and saw no one who fit that description, so I didn't believe him.
