I posted this before, but had a heck of a time for months trying to recover mom's dog that got out of a backyard. Flyers were put up in the neighborhood thanks to a connected woman in the area, vets and department notified, and photos went online.
The word went out.
Got a few emails from different sources. Some interesting responses. Some were from bored kids who just wanted to talk to strangers.
A few were 'perfect' pictures of our happy dog riding with a well dressed child and woman in car. Did an image search I couldn't find anything similar.
"We've got her waiting for you!" "Wonderful. Thank you. I've got got $500 cash and will stop by or we can meet in a public place, after the few hours it will take to drive there"
Then the conversation turned to
"I've got a really busy schedule and want you to send the money first using a safe method" (ie gift cards).
One of those contacts indicated their location as a warehouse in Brooklyn per browser tools.
I can only hope she ended up with a family that loved her.
