She was a total nutbag. When she yelled, "How about I just get my husband to kick your ass," a short, but burly man came out the door and looked like he was going to charge me. I was dressed professionally, had an ID badge on a lanyard around my neck, but I also had a pistol on my belt under my jacket and a big OTF knife clipped in my pocket. I ended up walking away without it getting physical, but it made me want to get some training on using my hands better before using an edged or projectile weapon.

Sometimes it is best to walk away. My nephews and their friends were out at a bar in VA Beach and had an encounter with the bar owners son. Apparently, this dude has substance and alcohol abuse problems. The boys were leaving the bar and the guy came out yelling at them, then started brandishing a gun. I thought the boys would have kicked his ass, but no, they tried to de-escalate the situation and walked away. If they didn't, I figure the guy would have had his ass handed to him. Both boys are naval officers, one in EOD, the other a SEAL, and a couple friends were SEALs as well. They have much better judgement than I.
David, you done good. The worst thing that can happen to a bully is to have someone stand up to him.
