Except that the Dodge Omni was more closely related to a VW rabbit or golf than a Mazda. The first several years of Omni/Horizon had VW 1.7L motors and VW transaxles. Chrysler eventually replaced the 1.7L VW with the Chrysler 2.2L.
But I do believe I've heard that GLH is supposed to stand for "goes like hell".
