edit: that's just an OK deal. After finding the ad, it would need the correct hubs (and possibly rims), stem, brake levers, and handlebars to make it 'right'. I think the decal set is readily available. Cosmetics could be cleaned up quite a bit. But for $1000-1200 one could probably find one in 'needs nothing' excellent condition.

I thought you might appreciate it, maybe make an offer on it, since like most of us, you don’t have enough projects. And I agree, the pictures you posted are definitely true “Art”, and I remember when everyone was drilling out everything (including me) to save some ounces ..
On the other end of the spectrum .
A knock off of a 80s RedLine RL II.
I know, why in the hell would I have “that”, considering my collection.
Mr BMX makes knock offs of many BMX bikes, it was brought up on a few BMX forums. At the time, he was doing Hutch Trick-Star freestyle frame set. Obviously, people were questioning the quality and how close to the real thing. I offered, if he sent me one, that I could compare it to mine, and since I have had a lot of actual riding time as well as owning several and still having one.

Well, he offered to give me one, if I paid for shipping.
BITD, I would test bikes for a few distributors, and thought it would be fun.
I sent the money for the shipping and then nothing, he forgot about the arrangement, and moved on to the next thing project. I said no problem, just refund me the money I paid for shipping. Well, he didn’t want to refund me, but offered me a RedLine instead. I pointed out that I don’t have the same experience with the RL II, and couldn’t give the same experience as with the Hutch.

I wasn’t expecting the handlebars that I call”FakeLifter”, since they are copies of the 80$ RedLine “Fork Lifter”, they were not cheap in the 80s and are really not cheap now.
And , I just happen to have a set on my 20” race bike from the 80s so I can at least compare those. Obviously I won’t be using anything valuable vintage parts, fortunately there is plenty of components being rereleased by the original manufacturers , so No vintage parts will be sacrificed on this experiment.
